Due to the ongoing digitalization, there is a high demand for computer scientists. This demand cannot currently be met: The number of computer science students is too low and the drop-out rate is high. Many topics appear to be too theoretical, abstract and not relevant to practice. In addition, only a few students meet the standard study periods. The question therefore arises as to how learning content can be explained in a more practical way and how more pupils in the field of computer science can be inspired. Games seem to be particularly suitable as a means of motivation. The following question will therefore be answered in this paper: Can a Serious Games based learning system increase motivation and learning success for basic programming skills?
